Floating Heat Exchangers
About
The floating tubes sheet is clamped between the floating head and a clamp ring. The ring which is split in half to permit dismantling is placed at the back of the tube sheet shows the details of a split ring assembly. The floating tubes sheet is kept slightly smaller in diameter than the inside diameter of shell so as to withdraw the entire tube bundle from channel end. The channel is provided with inlet and outlet connection for tubes side fluid. The shell is closed by shell cover or bonnet on a floating head side. Shell cover at the floating head end is larger than the other end so as to enable the tubes to be placed as near as possible to the edge of the fixed tube sheet. The tube sheet along with floating head is free to move and take the differential thermal expansion between the shell and the tubes bundle.
It is widely used in chemical industry and suitable for rigorous duties associated with high pressure and temperature and also with dirty fluids.
Design
According to different requirements, the floating head on a floating head heat exchanger can be designed into various types, in addition to consider that the tube bundle can move freely within the device, we must also take into the convenience of maintenance, installation, and cleaning for the heat exchanger.
Generally, there are four basic types of floating head heat exchanger – outside packed stuffing box (TEMA P), outside packed lantern ring (TEMA W), the floating head with backing device (TEMA S), and pull through (TEMA T) designs.
Process of the Floating Heat Exchangers
The heat transfer matrix is made up of all stainless steel designed for the particular air stream. This means the tubes, the tube sheets, and the baffle sheets are all stainless steel. By correctly matching the metallurgy to the characteristics of the application, you can be assured that all of our FLOATING TUBE are designed for long reliable performance. The propriety design of our FLOATING TUBE relies on a stress-free package that does not hinder tube growth. Every single tube is allowed to expand or contract at individual rates. There are no expansion joints or packed seals to break or degrade. This revolutionary design utilizes a system that creates “FREE FLOATING” tubes and zero leakages.
Advantages
- Tube bundle can be pulled out to facility cleaning the tubeside and shellside.
- Temperature difference between two medium is not limited.
- The heat exchanger can be operated under high temperature and high pressure, the average temperature is less than or equal to 450℃,and pressure is less than or equal to 6.4MPa.
- This kind of heat exchanger is suitable for the serious scaling occasion.
- This kind of heat exchanger is suitable for the easy corrosion occasion.
